PARS is going LOCAL and our local banks are making it happen! This year we have changed our "Feinstein Challenge" to the ARDIS TOWNSEND CHALLENGE to honor Ardis for her vision and caring heart. Back in 1974 Ardis saw a need in our community and decided to start the fight against hunger. Legend says, Ardis being determined to make a difference pulled her freezer to the middle of the garage opened the door and invited those who were hungry to come get food. Ardis was the first Director of the Pantry and her Legend lives on through our Vision to inspire and promote a better quality of life for our community by assisting individuals and families. Our Mission Statement to Serve People in need through referral and direct service is made possible with the help of our Community.
For every POUND of FOOD and for EVERY DOLLAR DONATED to the Pierre/Ft Pierre Food Pantry or to the BackPack Program between March 1st and April 30th~ BankWest, Black Hills Federal Credit Union, Dakota Prairie Bank, Dakota State Bank, First National Bank and Oahe Credit Union has agreed to provide MATCHING FUNDS!!!
