Pierre Area Referral Service (PARS) will be kicking off the 2nd Annual Burger Smash. The contest will run from April 1 through April 30, 2026. Net proceeds from the month-long event will benefit all the PARS programs in Hughes and Stanley Counties. Food scarcity continues to be a problem facing our community, and this event will raise funds and awareness for this issue, while also showcasing the great burgers our Pierre/Fort Pierre restaurants have to offer.

A number of Pierre/Fort Pierre restaurants will select or create a special burger from their menu to serve as their entry in the contest. Participating restaurants are being asked to contribute $500.00 towards the project, which includes them in all social media, website and rotating radio ads.

Burger connoisseurs will be able to visit participating restaurants and then go to the www.pierreareareferral.org Burger Smash tab (coming soon) to rate each of the burgers they try. Ultimately, the burger with the highest overall ratings will be unveiled and celebrated on May 8, 2026, the time and location to be determined. With your support Pierre Area Referral Service will continue to meet the needs of the community and the mission statement “Serving people in need through referral and direct service”.

Sponsorship Levels:

$1,500 The Big Cheese
Participants at this level will be presented as prime sponsors in all marketing to include event website, rotating radio ads and all social media.

$750 The Triple Stack
Participants at this level will be included in print marketing materials and the event website.

$300 The Double Cheese
Participants at this level will be included on the website.
